(Might have a bit of spoilers.)

So…  my third run of Atelier Totori is already done and as I said in my last post I’m going for Rorona’s ending. That I did and getting Level 50 in Alchemy isn’t as hard as I thought it would be. In my last 2 runs of the game, the reason why I haven’t reached max alchemy level is because I haven’t bought most of the recipes for high level items. I was hard up on cash during those runs. Now for this run, I have a lot of cash to start with so I can pretty much buy all the recipes without my money taking a serious hit. What else? I guess I’ll talk about events related to Rorona and the ending. While most of the character events tend to be humorous, I find Rorona’s events to be amusing. I mean, she is Totori’s alchemy teacher and is an adult but she does tend to act really childish while Totori tends to be a bit mature in those events. Also poor Rorona, she really is not good at teaching. In the ending, I bet the alchemy school of Rorona will have ended up as a failure if Totori was not assisting her. The students even regard Totori as the teacher instead of her.

I’m still not sure on who’s character ending I should do next. Maybe I’ll do Melvia’s ending? Maybe do a separate save and trigger the Normal Ending? Oh well, the game is short enough anyway (Shorter still if you have really good equipment.) so I can just get the endings at my leisure.

Alright! Finished my second run of Atelier Totori and I got Mimi’s Ending. This is my first real ending. (The Bad Ending is pretty much a glorified Game Over screen.) So apparently the endings in this game have priorities. For instance, Character endings have a higher priority over the Normal ending. I guess I’m gonna go for the character endings for now. I think I’m gonna go for Rorona’s Ending next. I am pretty much well prepared for my next run. I have around 78,000+ cole to start with and made some decent weapon and armor for characters that I will be using in my next run. So with my second run done I realized that you pretty much have enough time to do everything. My equipment isn’t even decent during this run. By the time that I beat Evil Face, I still have a lot of time on my hands. I could probably finish Gerhard’s quest and still have a enough time to mess around. (I was trying to aim for the Normal Ending but then I already have gotten far in Mimi’s events.) I’ll start my third run later when I wake up. (My computer says it’s currently 2:57 AM as I am typing this. Don’t have classes tomorrow. )

My brother bought himself a PS3 last Christmas and I bought Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland. It is a really fun game. I have played it the whole Christmas break. I already finished my first run of the game and I got the Bad Ending. TT_TT Already doing a second run of the game with somewhat decent gear and learning from my mistakes during my first time through the game. Already at Year 3 with an Adventurer Rank of  Diamond and enough time to explore and do alchemy before renewing the Adventurer License. If I can get at least the Normal Ending for this run, I’d be really happy. I should also be on the look out for Atelier Rorona and play it before the English translation of Atelier Meruru is released this year.

Nothing much for anime this time around. I’m waiting for “Nisemonogatari” and “Kill Me Baby”. That’s pretty much the shows I am waiting for this season.

I only slept for a few hours and I have classes today. Can’t get back to sleep so I thought of posting something to pass the time. (I still have about 1 hour and 30 minutes before I should wake up and prepare to get to the university.) Man, it has really been a while, huh?

What to talk about? Okay, how about gaming. I have bought Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Etrian Odyssey III. Man, you won’t believe how long it took me to find and buy a copy of Etrian Odyssey III! Though it is kind of unfortunate that I bought it along with Skyrim. I haven’t been playing it much. It is more to do with trying to get used to the new classes and new features. Pretty much the same thing when I played the first Etrian Odyssey. Playing Skyrim is also the reason I haven’t been playing it much. Skyrim is a pretty fun game. I’m playing as a Nord warrior that uses a great sword. The only thing that sucks is the current patch messed up the elemental resistances and I get slaughtered by mages easily. Though there are some amusing things that I noticed after the patch. Things like the wounded soldier in the Temple of Kynareth moving weirdly instead of lying down in pain, the guy in the Whiterun stables phasing through the ground, and Paarthurnax flying like he is a paper blown in the wind when you first meet him is very amusing and makes me chuckle.

For anime, I am watching Tamayura ~Hitotose~. I really liked the OVA so this is what I was looking forward to during the Fall season anime line-up. It is still a pretty enjoyable watch. I would recommend watching it definitely.

And that is all that I can think up right now. Got about a few more minutes before I eat breakfast and get to the university. Later then. (Whenever that is. )

Today is my birthday and I am now 23 years old. I did not really do anything special today because I just celebrated my birthday at home in advance yesterday since it is the only time that is convenient for me and my friends to get together. It was fun and we get to catch up on how each other was doing in the present.  I did get a present from my friend which is the book “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”. It is a pretty amusing book to read to say the least. I’m almost at the half way point reading it.

Metro Comic Con 2011:

What else can I say about this con? Me and my friend pretty much agree that this con was a mess. What is this convention really about? Is it a comic convention? An anime convention? A toy convention? We would have really preferred if it was just a normal comic convention like in Summer Komikon. Sure there were few people but at least it has focus. You have more selections for comics, indie comics, or manga. Metro Comic Con has less stalls for buying comics and indie comics. It has stalls for anime merchandise and a swarm of cosplayers. Well, I guess cosplayers draw out a lot of people to attend the con but this is a COMIC CONVENTION, right? My disappoint in the con is mainly that there were only a few indie comic groups selling their work. Since me and my friend are working on making a comic anthology for next Komikon, I have gained an appreciation for indie comics. Sure some of it is hit or miss but it has a certain charm to it. What we just did in the con is look around, bought a few indie comics that caught our interest, and left earlier than usual. This con was a disappointment for both of us and also goes to show you that if you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one.

Indie Comics Bought At Metro Comic Con:

Mixed Delight Volume 001 – Uh, I forgot the name of the comic circle who made this but this is an anthology comic with six comics made by six different artists. To be honest, this is pretty much hit and miss. The only comic in the anthology that I liked is the one titled “Makesong Romansa” because it is no holds barred cheesy and campy. (Oh, and the comic is in Filipino so the cheesiness of this story is really high.) Since most of the comics in the anthology are one shot comics, the next volume will have different stories to tell so I will consider buying the next volume as well.

Pineapple Secret (Part 1 of 2) – This one is from the comic circle, Kickbackers. I was actually after another comic made by them (because the cover art is really nice and interested me.) after browsing the indie comic line-up in Metro Comic Con’s website but it got sold out, so I just bought this one. (Just hoping that they reprint the comic that I’m after for next Komikon. I’m so buying it.) This one is pretty amusing and it takes place in a pineapple plantation. My favorite character there is the maid. She is really funny especially the part where she puts on this sad, pitiful act so she would not be fired because she can’t give her mistress pineapple juice and cake made from freshly harvested pineapple since the pineapple harvest is still the next day. Definitely will pick up Part 2.

Euphoria – Again, I have forgotten the name of the comic circle. Sorry about that. About this comic, you know that anime with a school setting and the main character gets bullied in the most exaggerated way? That is this comic. There is another comic made by them which my friend bought titled “Searching For A Better Boyfriend” and after reading it,  I actually liked that one over this one. The art work is really nice though. I say, I’ll give this a chance and buy the next one.  (And if possible, buy the other comic if they reprint it.)

Moemon – Leaf Green And Emerald:

The team that I used in Moemon Leaf Green to beat the Elite 4 a second time.

So, I have been playing Moemon (to those who don’t know, it’s still the same Pokemon game but the monster sprites are changed to moe anthropomorphism of each Pokemon.) for a long time now and I started with Leaf Green. I have played Touhoumon (which uses Fire Red as it’s base game.) so much that playing this is really so easy to me now.  I have beaten the Elite 4 for the first time in under 60 hours and completed the Sevii Island Quest, captured Entei and Mewtwo, and beat the Elite 4 a second time in under 80 hours.

After doing almost everything possible in Moemon Leaf Green, I proceeded to play Moemon Emerald. Well, this is all pretty swell. You have a lot of things to do though there is one thing I hate about it. The Match Call System in the PokeNav suck balls! It’s so hard to level up your team let alone change Pokemon for your team. I really missed the VS Seeker as I am playing this.  Already beaten the Elite 4 three times already (They don’t get high leveled Pokemon when you fight them again so it’s easy.) and caught Latias and Rayquaza. Still in the process of catching “The Regis”, Kyougre, and Groudon.

I haven’t been blogging much. (It’s been like 7 months, I guess?) Well, nothing interesting has been going so I have nothing to post. Well, I have been playing the Leaf Green version of Moemon (For those who do not know, it’s still the same Pokemon game but the monster sprites have been changed into moe anthropomorphism of those monsters.) recently but I guess I’ll save that topic for another time as I have not gotten far in the game yet. Okay, enough getting sidetracked. Today, I’ll be talking about Summer Komikon, a local comic book convention held in Bayanihan Center, Pasig City. I never really had plans to go to Komikon but my friend invited me to come along so because I have nothing better to do, I went along with him. Basically, there are stalls for buying independent comics (Indie comics have the most stalls.), Western comics, Local comics, and manga. There are some programs lined up sure, but most comic book fans there browse and buy from the stalls or sit in a corner drawing, not paying attention to the program. Man, I sure am glad that I came to Komikon. Seriously, where can you buy manga that only costs 100 pesos? If you buy manga in the bookstores here, they will cost around 550 pesos. (Sometimes even more.) You can buy 5 of those in the manga stall at that cost. It’s a really sweet deal! I will definitely come to the next Komikon. (Which is in November.)

Stuff that I got myself in Komikon:

Atelier Marie and Elie -Zarlburg Alchemist- Volumes 1 – 3: I have played Atelier Annie and Atelier Iris 2 and 3 so I guess that’s the reason I picked this manga. I just finished reading Volume 1 and it is a pretty fun read.

Independent Comics: (From left to right: Force 8 (Track One and Prelude Zero respectively.) by artist tomokii, BIATWO and Tea Party by the group iNORTH) Okay, first up Force 8. As I was browsing the stalls looking for interesting things to buy, I laid my eyes on Force 8 and I like the character designs so much that I bought it. The story is moving along slowly but I don’t blame it for that because each volume is pretty short. This is a really good looking comic and I will definitely get the next volume next Komikon. Next up is BIATWO. (What the heck is a BIATWO?) It’s about two delusional anime fans (a boy and a girl) acting out their fantasies in real life. The guy acting like the jerk ass main character and the girl acting like the stereotypical shoujo heroine. Also they expect things to happen like those in anime. It sounds silly and all and I still do not know what to expect from it because it is Chapter 0 so I guess I’ll wait next Komikon to see if there is more to it than this. Though there is one thing that I like about it and that is the girl breaks the fourth wall and knows that she is in a comic. Last is Tea Party. It’s about a girl who stalks this hero and that her stalking causes the hero trouble. I actually found it funny and is also one of those comics where the characters are aware that they are in a comic.

I also got introduced to my buddy’s friends who are really good at drawing. We talked about stuff like how Kirino from OreImo is a queen bitch, me defending Madoka for being whiny, how Kyubey is the devil, and other random things. Then my buddy got this crazy idea about us producing an independent comic. The plan is that we make an anthology comic which means that each of us is supposed to make a comic. I am supposed to make a 4-koma and my topic is about poking fun at anime and video games. It’s been done to death I know but its just a one shot comic so why not? Coming up with things to poke fun at anime and video games is easy. The thing that I am worried about is my drawing skill. I haven’t been drawing much so my drawings pretty much sucks as you can see here:

I need to get more practice. Time to bust out all my reference books and relearn everything. Looks like I won’t be playing Moemon for a while.

The future independent comic creator group. (Well, at least if we take this seriously. Oh yeah, the cameraman is the one who thought of making our own indie comic.)

Doraemon is an anime I fondly watched when I was a kid.  I couldn’t resist having my picture taken with Doraemon. (It’s a guy in a suit, I know. But for all intents and purposes, its Doraemon. )

Okay, okay, I’m kidding. The convention is called “The Best Of Anime 2010″, a one day convention that happened last Sunday. Can you blame me for that remark? I saw a lot of Naruto cosplayers during this convention. My god, “I Ai Anime” did not have that many Narutards. Where the hell did they come from? Even the cosplay competition is dominated by Naruto cosplayers. (I think about half (maybe more) of the contestants in the cosplay competition is cosplaying a character from Naruto.) About that “loli & shota” remark, well during events like this there are some parents who come to cons and dress up their little kids as anime characters. You don’t see that many of those during the cons but in this particular convention, there is a lot of them. Little kiddies cosplaying as Naruto, Haruhi, Taiga…. etc getting swarmed by the con goers to take their pictures because they think that the kiddies are “cute”. Oh, and said kiddies are also contestants in the cosplay competition just because they look cute. Me and my friend jokingly call it “child exploitation”. What to say about the convention? Its not bad. Its a one day convention and not that big like the previous conventions. There are only a few stalls to buy stuff but at least it is spacious unlike in “I Ai Anime” where the stalls are bunched together. If you are wondering about what I bought there, well I didn’t. I’m holding off with my expenses because the big convention is in October. The cosplay competition was fucking hilarious and that is because of good improvisation by the emcees. I was laughing so hard, I thought my asthma would act up. To those guys, more power to them. It was really hilarious when this Hatsune Miku cosplayer was going to lip sync to the song Po Pi Po, during the pause before  the music starts the emcee (who is dressed up as Luffy, by the way) just began singing the chorus part of the 2nd OP of Naruto. Another funny bit is when this War Machine cosplayer is acting like he was shooting (complete with guns lighting up like lasers are being shot) the emcees just say “PEW PEW PEW”. Man, it was so hilarious and I enjoyed watching that event. What else? Oh yeah, there is a manga library there where you can read manga for free. It seems to be a staple in this cons because I see them in all the conventions that I attended. Its a small library but its a good place to crash when you are tired from walking. I was reading “Please Save My Earth”. Yes, it is a shoujo manga (Go ahead and laugh) but what do you expect me to read? Naruto? One Piece? I actually found “Please Save My Earth” as an amusing read. I should look it up sometime. That’s pretty much it. Next are some of the cosplay pictures that my friend took. The convention hall does not have good lighting so some of the pics don’t look good. (The few pics that have good lighting are taken outside the convention hall.)

I was supposed to make this post yesterday but since I have to go somewhere yesterday with my siblings, I was really tired and wasn’t able to. Besides, I was also waiting for my buddy to send me the cosplay pictures that he took at the convention and I only got them just now. (More after the cut. This is a really long post. )

Anyway, about I Ai Anime. (That is really a strange convention name.) At first, our general consensus of the con was that it was pretty bland and really unorganized. Hell, like I said in the previous post, I only learned of this con from a friend of mine. The convention hall was divided because there was another convention going on. (Some book convention or something.) So the place where this is being held is pretty small. The stalls are all bunched together. Its a mess. Its really hard to get around if you are gonna buy something. Seeing that there is a Jail Booth and a Horror Booth really made me go WTF?! What is this a school festival or something? This is just unnecessary and if they removed these 2, there will be more space and stalls would not have to bunch together in a corner. I was really getting bored out of my skull, heck my 3 other friends left. (I understand with my 1 friend because he still has work. The other 2 are probably just bored as hell. ) Yeah…. it was pretty boring when we came there, I was already thinking of just buying something that I like from the stalls and leave. (And follow my friends at another mall. ) I just stayed a bit longer with my friend because he wanted to take more cosplay pictures. (Mostly of girls. LOL) But then, they were holding an anime quiz game. That peeked our interest. Me and my friend were like answering along as the question is asked and shaking our heads in disbelief when the participants don’t know something so simple. Yes, its like that situation when you watch a game show and tell yourself  “This thing is so easy that I can win this if I participated”. My friend really thought that we can win this if we participated and so on the third anime quiz game we participated. (I never really planned on joining. Then again, this might be LULZ worthy so I went along with my friend.) And you know what? We won. I kid you not. So okay, this is how that quiz game works:

5 categories (Different for each anime quiz game.) and 5 questions in each category with varying point values. The team with the highest points at the end is the winner.  The categories when we joined in are as follows: Geography 101 (Its about Hetalia.), Anime PVs (A music video will be shown and you must guess which anime that music is used.), Quotes (Name the anime character who said that quote.), Parodies (Name the anime that is being parodied.), and jeez I forgot what that last one was called. LOL (Its about anime that have fruits in their title like Kimagure Orange Road, Peach Girl, etc…) Me and my friends combination is awesome! I handled Parodies and Quotes, he handled Geography 101 and that 5th category. We got our asses kicked with the Anime PVs category though. (Most of those songs are either from new anime or shows that we do not watch like Naruto and Bleach.) Oh, and if you are curious of what the prizes are, well here they are:

So yeah, despite its (many) shortcomings, I enjoyed this convention. I actually had fun and not just be a spectator. I also can’t wait for the convention in October. They promised that it will be even bigger and better than this convention and they invited along some Japanese artist for the coming convention. (They are not telling who they invited.) Really do hope that they can keep their promise.

My friend told me that there is gonna be an anime convention. I don’t really know the details hell I don’t even know what the convention is called. All I know is that its gonna be held in SM Mega Mall and it is a 2 day convention. I am really excited and can’t wait for tomorrow. (Can’t blame me though. It has really been a long time since I went to an anime convention.) Well, that’s not the only reason for me getting excited. Me and my buddies are gonna get together and have fun. (Our schedules have really made it hard for us to get together.) The other important thing is that conventions will always have stalls that sell anime related merchandise. Yeah, its only through conventions that I get to buy stuff that I cannot find in bookstores and hobby shops here. It’s like hunting for rare items! (Am I sounding like Mirielle from .hack// Legend of the Twilight Bracelet?) I can’t wait to see what items I can buy there! The only sad thing is that I do not have much cash with me so I have to spend my money wisely. I will only buy stuff that I really want to have. Now, SM Mega Mall is really far from my place so I have to sleep early and wake up early. (So no late night gaming this time.) When I get back from the convention, I will post about it.

Barely got any sleep. I don’t know if it’s the excitement, the fact that I forced myself to sleep early, or because I slept for a long time during the afternoon. Well, on the plus side, I’m already up and won’t fear of oversleeping. Feeling really groggy though. (But can’t sleep.) I’m gonna go make myself some coffee, that might help.

This is my current team in Touhoumon Emerald. I still need to level them up more though.

Oh man, after beating and getting the 5th badge the game gets really tough! I swear that I have beaten the 6th Gym Leader, Mystia by luck. (I was really under-leveled.) I’m supposed to fight the 7th Gym Leader, Patchouli now but I’m not going to. If there is one thing I learned from battling Mystia its that they (The Gym Leaders up to this point.) have really high level puppets and they  have a puppet which is a Last Word or Final. (Boss exclusive puppets. You can’t use them.) Since there is no such thing as a Last Word Patchouli, I am assuming Patchouli has a Final Patchouli as her puppet among her team. I have a Final Patchouli before in the earlier version of the Aqua-Yui Version of Touhoumon so I know that Final Patchouli has really high Defense and Special Defense. I would not even be surprised if the game just gave me the middle finger and make it really high leveled. (Probably Level 60 or 65.) So now I am level grinding. Fighting those low leveled wild Puppets (Level 30 at most.) and challenging any Trainer that I can beat. (Some trainers have really high level puppets.) Since you don’t have a VS Seeker in Emerald Version and instead that glorified map which is the PokeNav (Yeah, I know that with the PokeNav trainers registered in it can challenge you again but this is a poor replacement for the VS Seeker.), level grinding is a pain in the ass. I mean, I only get 300+ experience points at most when fighting wild Puppets and waiting to get challenged by trainers registered in the PokeNav takes forever. I just stopped for some time and decided to go catch some wild puppets because it was getting tedious and boring. I decided to go fishing because I have not been doing that. (I was busy trying to level up and fishing in Emerald is tedious as all hell.) I was in Pacifidlog Town (Mirage Town in this ROM hack.) fishing when suddenly I fished a Level 30 Last Word Yuka. It was weird because the only move it knows is Tackle (And apparently you can’t use TMs on them making them useless.) and you are not supposed to get Last Word puppets. I captured it (Made a save state first just in case catching this messes up my save.) and since my save is fine it made me wonder how much experience points does beating this Last Word give. I mean, it is a Last Word puppet, it must give pretty decent experience. Boy was I right. The highest experience points I got is 1414 experience points while the lowest experience points I get is 800+ experience points. Hallelujah! My level grinding problem is solved…. almost. (Even though this is much experience, at probably around Level 70+ this will become really tedious.) I learned through reading the Touhoumon Thread in Pooshlmer that this is an oversight and you are not really supposed to encounter them in the wild. It will be fixed when it gets updated. Now, do I feel guilty in using those Last Word puppets as a means to level up quickly? HELL NO!!! The game is already tough enough as it is and I need to level grind to be on equal footing with trainers and Gym Leaders. By the time that an update is out, my team will already have become powerful already and won’t be needing to beat up some Last Word puppets anymore. I will exploit the hell out of this oversight until the update is released.
